Funnels

Measure conversion rates across a defined sequence of user actions.

What is a Funnel?

A funnel calculates how many users successfully navigate a specific path in your product. For example, an E-commerce Checkout Funnel might consist of three steps:

  1. Item Added to Cart
  2. Checkout Started
  3. Purchase Completed

The Funnels report will show you the exact drop-off rate between each of these steps, allowing you to identify friction points in your UX.

Building a Funnel

  1. Navigate to the Funnels tab.
  2. Click + Add Step to define the first event in your sequence.
  3. Continue adding steps in the order you expect users to perform them.
  4. (Optional) Apply global filters. For instance, filter by os == iOS to only see funnel performance for Apple users.

Conversion Window
By default, a user has 30 days to complete the funnel from the moment they perform Step 1. You can adjust this conversion window in the query settings to be as short as 5 minutes or as long as 90 days.

Interpreting Results

The Funnel chart displays a bar graph where Step 1 is always 100%. Subsequent bars show the percentage of users who made it to that step. Below the chart, a detailed table breaks down the raw user counts and average time-to-convert between steps.
